Arrival & Parking
All volunteers must park in the gravel lot across from the main entrance.
-
Golf carts will be available to take you to the Westover Sports Complex.
-
Check your volunteer start time and arrive early so you have plenty of time to park and ride over. Start times will vary by team, but are approximately 1 hour before show times each day.
SHOW TIMES: Thursdays 7-9, Fridays 7-10, Saturdays 7:30-9:30, Sundays 6-9 -
Transportation service will run before and after the event to get you back to your vehicle safely.
Volunteer Check-In
Once you arrive at the Sports Complex:
-
Head straight to the volunteer check-in area (inside the basketball court gates).
-
Pick up your lanyard and connect with your team.
-
Be on time — your team leader will give you a quick training before the event so you feel confident and ready to serve.
(Check your volunteer schedule, call times vary by night.)
What to Wear
Dress to have fun!
-
Holiday attire (ugly Christmas sweaters encouraged!), or casual comfy clothes work great.
-
Most roles are outdoors, so dress for the weather (and in Texas that means: layer up).
-
Comfortable shoes are a must! You’ll be on your feet most of the night.
Food & Breaks
We’ll take care of you while you serve:
-
A light dinner is provided before the event.
-
Snacks and drinks are available in the volunteer area throughout the night.
-
Team leaders will let you know when it’s time for breaks.
-
Additional snacks are available for purchase at the concession stand.
Volunteer Roles & Flexibility
Every role is important, and your flexibility helps the night run smoothly!
-
If an area needs extra hands, we may reassign you during the event.
-
Parents: Children ages 11–13 can volunteer in the Fun Zone with a parent. If you’re assigned somewhere else, we’ll happily reassign you so you can serve together.
We can’t thank you enough for giving your time, energy, and heart to make this event special. Every smile, every kind gesture, and every moment you serve helps us share joy, hope, and the message of Christ with thousands of people.
You are the heart and hands behind the lights — and we are so grateful.
Let’s make this year’s Field of Lights unforgettable. Merry Christmas!
